Why does God offer special favor in this world to those people who remain on the right way?

 

Verses 16-17 of Chapter 72:
And (O Prophet, say: “it has been revealed to me:”) If the people had steadfastly pursued the right way, We would have given them abundant waters to drink that We might try them by that blessing. And he who turns away from his Lord's remembrance, his Lord shall punish him with a severe torment.
