What will the unbelievers say seeing unexpectedly the Day of Judgement and subsequent punishment?

Verses 54-60 of Chapter 39
And return to your Lord time after time and submit to Him before there comes to you the punishment, then you shall not be helped. And follow the best that has been revealed to you from your Lord before there comes to you the punishment all of a sudden while you do not even perceive; Lest a soul should say: O woe to me! for what I fell short of my duty to Allah, and most surely I was of those who laughed to scorn; Or it should say: Had Allah guided me, I would certainly have been of those who guard (against evil); Or it should say when it sees the punishment: Were there only a returning for me, I should be of the doers of good. Aye! My communications came to you, but you rejected them, and you were proud and you were one of the unbelievers. And on the day of resurrection you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces shall be blackened. Is there not in hell an abode for the proud?

Do the people who associate others with God love them much more than Him? Although these people profess that they believe in God, they do not believe the Day of Judgement!

Verses 43-48 of Chapter 39
What! Have they taken besides Allah others as intercessors? Say to them, "Will they intercede even if they have no power whatever nor understanding?" Say, "Intercession is wholly in the power of Allah. His is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Then, to Him you will be returned." When Allah alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter, are filled with anguish; but when others beside Him are mentioned, they are at once filled with joy. Say, "O God! Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen! You alone shall judge between Your servants concerning that in which they have been differing." Even if the wicked people possessed all the wealth of the earth, and as much more, they would be prepared to offer it all as ransom to escape the terrible punishment of the Day of Resurrection; yet from Allah there would appear before them that which they would never have imagined. There, all the evil results of their deeds shall become manifest to them, and the same which they had been mocking shall encompass them completely.

Verse 165 of Chapter 2
Yet there are men who take (for worship) others besides Allah, as equal (with Allah): They love them as they should love Allah. But those of Faith are overflowing in their love for Allah. If only the unrighteous could see, behold, they would see the penalty: that to Allah belongs all power, and Allah will strongly enforce the penalty.

Worshiping others can never help to bring those worshipers closer to God!

Verses 2-3 of Chapter 39
(O Muhammad,) We have sent down this Book to you with the truth, so worship Allah alone, making your religion His exclusively. Beware! Religion is exclusively Allah's right. As for those who have taken other guardians besides Him (and justify their conduct, saying): "We worship them only that they may bring us closer to Allah." Allah will surely judge between them concerning all that in which they differ. Allah does not show guidance to any liar and denier of the truth.

Will people have a severe punishment if they forget the Day of Reckoning by wandering astray from the straight path of God?

Verse 26 of Chapter 38
O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account.

A human being can merely be the maker of a thing, but not ‘the creator’ which is solely deserved by God!

Verses 88-96 of Chapter 37
Then he cast a glance at the stars. And he said: "Verily, I am sick.'' So they turned away from him and departed. Then he turned to their gods and said: "Will you not eat''. "What is the matter with you that you speak not''. Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. Then they came hastily towards him. He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve''. "While Allah has created you and what you make!''

Those who have been given the Scripture (Al-Qu'ran) as inheritance from God become divided in context of deeds!

Verses 31-32 of Chapter 35
That which We have revealed to thee of the Book is the Truth,- confirming what was (revealed) before it: for Allah is assuredly- with respect to His Servants – well acquainted and Fully Observant. Then We have given the Book for inheritance to such of Our Servants as We have chosen: but there are among them some who wrong their own souls; some who follow a middle course; and some who are, by Allah’s leave, foremost in good deeds; that is the highest Grace.
