Despite believing that God is the creator and governor of the universe, why do some people still give a share of their worship to others?

Verse 61 of Chapter 29:
If indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, “Allah”. How are they then deluded away (from the truth)?

Verse 63 of Chapter 29:
And if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, “Allah!” Say, “Praise be to Allah!” But most of them understand not.

Verses 65-66 of Chapter 29:
So when they ride in the ships they call upon Allah, being sincerely obedient to Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, lo! they associate others (with Him);Thus they become ungrateful for what We have given them, so that they may enjoy; but they shall soon know.

Verses 33-34 of Chapter 30:
When trouble touches men, they cry to their Lord, turning back to Him in repentance: but when He gives them a taste of Mercy as from Himself, behold, some of them pay part-worship to other god’s besides their Lord, (as if) to show their ingratitude for the (favours) We have bestowed on them! Then enjoy (your brief day); but soon will ye know (your folly).

Verses 74-75 of Chapter 36:
Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped! They have not the power to help them: but they will be brought up (before Our Judgment-seat) as a troop (to be condemned).

Verse 3 of Chapter 39:

Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful.

Comment: Worshiping others and seeking help from them in the good times of life other than the lord of the Universe demonstrate the highest level of ingratitude towards Him inspite of His numerous favors continuosly bestowed upon all. Moreover, by becoming ungrateful to the God who is everywhere seeing and listening to us for every moment, people like to enjoy the freedom to satisfy their desires within this earth .
